The Stelvio’s 48 numbered hairpins, the pale vertical rock and linked passes of the Dolomites — Pordoi, Gardena, Sella, Falzarego — and cool, thin alpine air. These are benchmark roads riders cross borders for; most are summer-only, and they reward an early start.
